Join the Tattered Cover Book Store, UCD's College of Arts & Media, KUNC 91.5, and the Sie FilmCenter (in the Lowenstein CulturePlex, next door to the Tattered Cover Colfax Avenue) for an exploration of the world of classic movies, hosted by film critic Howie Movshovitz. All programs begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $1.00, and are available one hour before the screening from the box office. Parking is available in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets.

This month we’ll see the 1979 Volker Schlöndorff classic The Tin Drum.

German filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff, novelist Günter Grass and screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière combined to make this Oscar-winning film about a young boy in Germany who has an accident and stops growing at the age of three. It’s their way of talking about one dimension of what happened to Germany in the ‘30s and ‘40s. (142 minutes)
