  • Virtual Experiences with Authors
    • #SaveWithStories - A bunch of celebrities teamed up to create this Instagram account to read children's books aloud. It features artists such as Jennifer Garner, Amy Adams, Demi Levato, Derek Hough, Lupita Nyongo, and Kerry Washington. 
    • Olaf Reading Children's Books - Using the hashtag #GadBookClub, Frozen actor Josh Gad is reading children's books at 7pm EST every night. What could be better than having Olaf read your kids to sleep?
    • "The Big List of Children's Authors Doing Online Read Alouds & Activites" - We Are Teachers compiled this amazing master list of so many authors, Children's and Young Adult alike, and what they are offering online. Whether it's a storytime, a read aloud, or other activies, this is an excellent, well-organized list.
    • Mo Willems Doodle Class - Kennedy Center Education artist-in-residence Mo Willems is leading an afternoon doodling session every day at 1 p.m. ET for the next few weeks, showing readers how to draw his iconic pigeon and piggie, as well as offering a glimpse inside his Massachusetts studio. “Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons,” Willems said in a statement to readers. “We are going to doodle together and explore ways of writing and making.”
    • Draw Every Day with JJKHey, Kiddo author and illustrator Jarret J. Krosoczka has taken to YouTube to offer a daily drawing lesson for people of all ages. Krosoczka will record a video every weekday at 2 p.m. ET for the coming weeks.
    • Peter Reynolds Daily Live StreamPeter Reynolds, author of The Dot and many other works for young readers, was winding down his tour for his new picture book BE YOU! when the new coronavirus outbreak caused him to cancel in-person appearances for some of his last events. Now, Reynolds is taking to Facebook daily to do a daily read-aloud that students and teachers can view
    • Read, Wonder, and Learn!: Author Kate Messner’s (Chirp) site is being regularly updated with publisher-approved author readings, art lessons, and curricular resources. Messner has also received permission for read-alongs for some of her books, including a not-yet-published title from Chronicle.
    • Sing Along with Emily!: Author Emily Arrow (Checking In, Studio: A Place for Art to Start) hosts a sing along event Mondays - Fridays at 1pm on her Youtube Channel
    • Storytime With Bill: A series of videos from Little, Brown Young Readers featuring different picture book read alouds
    • Behind the Scenes with Chris Grabenstein: Acclaimed author of Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library, Chris Grabenstein takes kids on a behind the scenes look of how his book was made
    • Stacy McAnulty Read Aloud: Author Stacy McAnulty (Brave) is reading aloud her books on her instagram channel.
    • A Tale Magnolious First Chapter Read Aloud: Join Suzanne Nelson on her Youtube channel as she reads aloud the first chapter of her middle grade novel, A Tale Magnolious
    • The Fault In Our Stars First and Second Chapter Read Aloud: These are older videos but to inspire some of your teens to read, you can listen to author John Green read aloud Chapter One and Chapter Two of his hit novel, The Fault in Our Stars
    • Astronaut Story Times
    • Everywhere Book Festival - A virtual online book festival with childrens authors; May 1-2 with more than 50 participating authors and illustrators
